Multicultural Celebration

Description

Rockwall ISD will host its annual Multicultural Celebration on February 1, 2018 to celebrate the diversity of cultures that Rockwall ISD students come from.

“The Multicultural Celebration is always one of my favorite events and last year was the best yet,” said Director of Fine Arts, Chris Kosterman. “I was amazed by the incredible music, theatre, dance and art. Our Parade of Nations was incredible. “

The Rockwall ISD Multicultural Celebration will highlight the beauty and diversity of Rockwall ISD through cultural art, music, performances and more. The event will feature select fine arts students from all over Rockwall ISD.

“I like being in the parade each year because I get to represent part of my family in Nicaragua,” said Anna Lucia Mejia, a student at Shannon Elementary. “There’s a lot of kids that are from Mexico but I can’t be in two places at once!”

This year's theme for the 2018 Multicultural Celebration is Deep in the Heart of Rockwall.

Students are invited to join the parade of nations, where they march into the performing arts auditorium wearing traditional clothing of their native country.

If your family has come to Rockwall ISD from another country, please consider allowing your 1-12 grade students to participate.

Forms are available at your school’s front office or at Rockwallisd.com. Forms are due 1/11.
