Rockwall ISD Child Nutrition Department Earns Perfect Score in State Review

Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) recently conducted their Administrative Review of the Rockwall ISD Child Nutrition Department. The report returned Zero Findings and Rockwall ISD earned a commendation, an accomplishment only 20% of districts in the State receive.

The Rockwall community can be happy to know that the Child Nutrition Department is maintaining and exceeding the high standards set by TDA for Child Nutrition Programs and caring that our students receive the best we can provide.

“I think we got a 100,” said Kathy Morgan, a cafeteria worker at Williams MS, as she worked the register during lunch. “We’re glad the state has acknowledged the job we do because we know we do a great job.”

The Administrative Review takes place every three years and it reviews every aspect of the program, including menus, observing meal preparation and service, financial records, meal application accuracy and professional training standards.

The three school that were audited were Reinhardt ES, Shannon ES and Williams MS.

“We’re really happy that we wound up with a 100,” said Richard Own, a cafeteria worker at Williams MS.  “It made us feel really good, but with the management team that we have, we really don’t have any problems over here. It’s very easy to do our job.”
