We are so excited that you're here! For this 2023-2024 school year, we will be covering these core objectives below: 

The main goals of middle school English are to engage our students while enhancing their ability to: 1) effectively read a wide-range of literary genres, 2) write coherently and cogently, 3) speak in a variety of settings, formally and informally, 4) and critically analyze and think through complex tasks and concepts. We utilize the Reader’s Writer’s Workshop model. The reader’s portion is designed to engage students in active reading strategies. Class novels, book clubs and independent choice reading are utilized. The writing portion of the workshop model is designed to enhance students’ writing abilities by using daily writing opportunities, choice writing, and peer collaboration. This model, along with these skills will provide a literary foundation that will prepare them for their future.
